Interview with Ralph Torres, an Navy veteran, concerning his childhood in north Fort Worth and vocational education received at Technical High School; enlistment in the U.S Navy at age seventeen; assignment to USS Rockaway, USS Wyandot, USS Paiute, and USS Florida; training missions in the Pacific Ocean; various missions to North Africa, France, Greenland, including Normandy invasions; social life in ports of call; re-enlistment in 1946; struggles with alcoholism and conversion to Pentecostal church; civilian career as a mechanic. Appendix includes a photocopies of the United States Naval Institute journal from June 2004 (six leaves) and "History of the Rockaway" (seven leaves).
